They’ll remain version exclusive probably. Solgaleo in the first version and Lunala in the second. What I’m interested in is, if they ever do a single version again, how they’ll handle it there.

Switch is gonna kill version exclusivity, they'll start selling one version, with the differences being decided by your trainer ID being odd or even.

They’ll never allow the main differences to be decided by RNG. Even if they do one version the player will still have more control over it than that.

If they release only one version of the game on the Switch and not two, then yeah, this will probably be how it evolves. You get Solgaleo if you evolve it during the day, Lunala if you evolve it at night.
