I'm the opposite. I really enjoyed how emerald especially gave them cutscenes and grand impact on the game itself

On paper it's an original concept, but in the end, it makes them completly... Dull.

They don't even feel like actual legendaries because of it. They have no presence, they don't even control sun and moon and they are just shitty transdimensional aliens.
If anything, i'm more impressed by UBs, they just feel like pseudo-legends.

I disagree, the legends being back to just powerful creatures revered by locals is what makes them interesting, as opposed to the entire creation pantheon from Gen3 to 4. It makes them feel relatable on a down-to-earth level, even if they were otherwordly aliens.

The fact that the celestial trio's family drama is more engaging(to the point of usurping the original SM plot) than stopping some baddies from unmaking the world helps too.
