I agree, Gen 7 has a lot of good ideas that just need the right execution
If Gen 7 was executed right it'd be the best gen in the series, but it was held back by Game Freak's sudden incompetence

It is extremely bad. Gamefreak's attempts to pretend to improve while continuously backstepping just enough to keep enough good game mechanics hostage that they can release in remakes or new games when they run out of ideas is working on you.
