does anyone else feel like gen 8 will start from scratch and we won't be able to transfer our pokemon over?

gen 7 really went all out in making it easy to obtain pokemon with good IV's, shinies, Hidden abilities etc..

And from 5 to 6. People have been transferring their bros from gen 3 on. This would piss people off the same way not being able to transfer mons from 2 to 3 did. Not to mention, they'd lose the enormous cash flow they get from pokemon bank.

Because everything before and including the 3DS era is tainted by hackmons and injectfags.

If GF made pokemon on the switch unhackable I would not at all mind if they didn't allow transfers.

I could see them holding off bank support for a few months after Gen 8 launches. I don't think they'd ever pull another BW new Pokemon-only regional dex ever again sadly.

GF needs to start encouraging players to build a living dex to deal with the whole "gotta catch'em all" nonsense. It doesn't take long if you've played multiple games over the gens and can transfer Pokemon up.

See that's the thing with security. You need to be right every time and the hackers only need to be right once. Eventually everything is hacked. Pokemon was the driving force behind the hacking of the 3ds and it will drive the switch hacking too. If they block bank they punish the legitimate customers to slow down the pirates (who will eventually hack anyways). My suggestion, if you want to play pristine pokemon, is get the game on launch and play it as much as you can until it's hacked, then put it down and wait for 9th gen.
