The AI pulling an ultra restore or potion out of their ass is always annoying but you have the advantage of building your own team beforehand and freely switching pokémon during the battle.

What do you mean? I don't know what pokemon Lysandre has. I'm going in blind. I should be allowed to use revives given that my team is mostly ground or rock and his gyarados knows Cascade.

One of the most satisfying boss fights I've had in a while. Also, move tutors being available in the main game again is one of the really great things about USUM.

I was genuinely surprised by how difficult these fights were, especially Lysandre of all people. He got plenty of lucky crits off, but then I was just using my favourites with no regard to team building and Naganadel was there to gain levels so I was a bit handicapped. Now I know why the game gives you all of those Max Revives

It's because they have to use the model for the overworld instead of showing up for two seconds before the battle. It's a downgrade from that, but an obvious upgrade from his chibi. And making a new model is the opposite of lazy.

Still had trouble though since besides A-Muk my team is pretty frail.
Also I had to setup Volcarona with quiver dance to cheese that M-Mewtwo that otherwise would oneshot me.

Literally no revives used in battle, team of 5, Incineroar, Lycanrock, Ampharos, Noivern, Malamar, also had U-Necrozma as a fall back for any bullshittery, never needed to use him
It was too easy, and the rocket grunt fights were so tedious, I was at least hoping for a bit more fun
