Actually is sand veil allowed in Ubers? Since most events lack HA, I imagine an event Garchomp with Sand Veil that has those moves would upset some people.

Ironic since its typing would be absolute shit on anything other than it and it should be the worst compared to all of the other Pseudos (well except Goodra, that mon is just bad in many ways). Just to show the right combo can make a fantastic pokemon even with a bad typing (defensive wise at least, offesive it's pretty great).

to be fair, Tyranitar is effectively a 660 base stat 'mon
It's more or less similar to Kyurem-B or Hoopa-U, uberworthy stats but held back by a godawful typing

In addition to having Dragon Dance to better facilitate a sweep, the bulk to better facilitate setting up, and Extreme Speed to better facilitate having Extreme Speed, Zygarde finally picked up Thousand Arrows this gen. In exchange for a slight power drop from Earthquake, it now ignores the immunity that keeps Ground from being the most ridiculously broken offensive type in the game (seriously 5 SE hits to 2 resists what the fuck)
Meanwhile, Garchomp's power as a sweeper has fallen off considerably over the past couple of generations. Priority last gen and general Speed creep this gen have made Chomp's base 102 Speed tier less impressive than it was in 2006, and massive power creep makes base 130 Attack far less earth-shattering than it was in the halcyon days of Gen IV. Furthermore, Fairies have put a huge dent in the effectiveness of Garchomp's once-feared dual STABs.

Garchomp is losing relevance because its troll tier speed stat isn't so troll anymore, and Game Freak thought of the bright idea of introducing 5 Fairy type legendaries all at the same time with no "restrictions" and assumed it wouldn't completely fuck up the meta.

100 speed is demonstratively good enough for +1 boosts to work and it does have access to earth power, fire blast and boomburst to make a decent 3 attack special core
and at +1sp-def 80-80-80 starts becoming decent bulk

Fighting Pokemon were never used anyways. Back in the day, Fighting type pokemon were largely the only source of Fighting type attacks, and they still weren't common.
Gen 4 started giving lots of access to Fighting moves to all sorts of Pokemon, and gen 5 just doubled down. The coverage started getting used, even if the type itself never really did.
Gen 6 was just a kick to an already dead type.

No Rough Skin is only a dealbreaker for defensive or support chomps.

Fighting MOVES were everywhere.
I'll give you that there were more Fighting Pokemon in use in gen 5 than gen 6, but really not by that much. Terrakion and Conkeldurr are really the only fighting pokemon affected by it, and Keldeo did fine anyways.
Fuck, if anything, gen 6 actually put MORE fighting pokemon on the map than it took, since Hawlucha, Mega Lop, Mega Cham, Mega Cross, Mega Auradog, and Mega Chicken all were notable.

It was better than Life Orb Blaziken in XY because you could run Adamant and Deoxys-A and Mewtwo-Y at +1. Normal Blaziken can do it with Jolly but it would end up being weaker than Mega Blaziken even with a Life Orb.

Breloom was really common, Infernape was still good and Toxicroak saw usage on rain teams.
The formers also had Mach Punch, which was useful since they could revenge kill Hydreigon.

Gen 5 is my favorite but you are so wrong. If it wasn't for the Therian forms, the kamis would take the throne as the worst trio in terms of design. No one would use the Incarnate forms if they weren't so good competitively.

I doubt it will sink down to BL next gen, unless they introduce something crazy. Sure its sinking in relevancy with all the fairies and tapus, but it at least has pretty good coverage to deal with them in iron head and poison jab. What it really nedds to stay relevant is a good priority move like accelerock or something STAB.

Iron Head's only hits Lele(pray it flinches) and Bulu(small chance to 2HKO a max HP build)
Koko is weak to one of your STABs
Fini takes neutral from Steel. And with the lack of STAB, it will do less damage than a Technician Aerial Ace.

Never use Iron Head on Garchomp. Ever.

Gen 7 was anti-priority meta. I feel that Gen 8 is going to do something about the speed creep.

I know that Gamefreak will never do it, but we need a major stat redistribution for most mons. Some are just designed to be total shit and it's very sad.

Magearna is outsped and OHKO'd. In truth, Garchomp doesn't care that much about muh Fairy five(which is pretty much a /vp/ boogeyman in the first place). His problem is having to directly compete with Landorus-T and an alternative Dragon/Ground Pokémon being now relevant and more difficult to check.
