Fearow was always just tremendously underwhelming to me.

Not only is it as painfully simple as birdmons go, but they decided to paint it the most boring, mundane shade of brown they could use at the time. It didn't get normal replaced by dark, it didn't get any subtle color alteration through the gen 1---->3 sprite transition, it's just... there.

I swear the majority of brown/gray normal types were a mistake.

Most flying types are really boring, and water pokemons that are just fish or other aquatic animals are not much better. Gen 1 having four bird pokemons (+ 3 legendary birds) and for water, a seal, a duck, a clam, crab, seahorse, three different fishes and a sea star. What a waste.

No one ever talks about it
Carnivine has and does absolutely nothing to make it stand out
Carnivine is complete shit competitively AND in game
You have to look up Bulba or Serebii to even remember it exists
Carnivine is literally my mom's venus flytrap
In conclusion Carnivine is the most forgettable AND unnecessary pokemon ever created by a long shot.

The whole point of Carnivine is to showcase that levitating pokémon that use Ingrain becomes grounded. That's why they gave it Levitate and why its roots is bigger part of its design than they are for most Grass pokémon.

Always overshadowed by Venusaur, whether in-game or on Showdown. It's actually the better sun sweeper, but nobody used it in Gen 5 because Venusaur is a starter and the low ladder had more power over tier usage back then.
