Absolutely. I'd like for less focus on bosses being type specialists by at least the half way point of the game. There's no reason to carry on like that once kids learn the type match ups. In fact there's barely any reason for type specialists at all since now kids don't even need to learn type match ups.

You know what I want? Gym leaders who have a THEME rather than focus on a type.

Think of how cool that'd be! They could make their teams more diverse without simply just using varied dual-typed Pokemon. D/P did a bunch of stuff like that, and I kinda wanna see a whole game done in that style, you know?

It'd also allow for more varied gameplay as opposed to "Use X to win the whole gym".

the gym is made to look like a ship (or better yet, it could be an ACTUAL ship)

the people you fight in the gym are the crew members

the gym leader is the captain

they all have Wingull, Pelipper, Dhelmise, Chatot, Sharpedo, various marine Pokemon, and other appropriately themed team members

I actually like this. Teach the player to deal with actual strats that are realistically rather than just playing with a type advantage and hitting potions.

Gym battles should be level synced and disallow items, basically you're fighting using real rules on gentlemanly terms.

Outside of gyms and tournaments is where the FFA happens of course.

Their gyms were based off envoronments, so you could still sorta guess what to expect but you couldnt just take one or two types and steamroll the whole gym.

Blue just used his regular team but with Pidgeot as his ace because Red cucked him out of a starter and they didn't feel like giving him the Eevee from Yellow (Which could have evolved into Umbreon and make total sense to mirror Reds Espeon which was also cut for some reason and replaced with a fucking Lapras which resulted in type stacking)

I would like to see some type specialists have one wildcard type that can learn moves of the specialist type, but not just with offensive moves.

Like if there was a rock type specialists, one pokemon would be something like a Bisharp with Rock Polish.

As a Fire-type specialist, that team sucks, as an expert trainer, his team sucks even more because all of them are shitmons (with exception of Infernape)
