Forgotten? It's been in in almost every game since gen 2. They should've given it an evolution as a reaction to being hunted by Mareanie, becoming Water/Steel.

Water/Steel would make more sense at an evolutionary stand point, Steel being immune to Poison. and all. Evolving into Water/Steel made it harder/impossible for Mareanie/Toxapex to break off it's horns.

nah water steel is genius because it gets harder/more sturdy like onix-->steelix and it keeps the water type. like a super coral. also steel immunity to poison which makes sense if evolving defensively from toxapex. not OP of this idea but I'm a huge fan of it

Water-Ghost evolution akin to Shedninja/Ninjask evolution. If a mareanie evolves into toxapex with a Corsola in the party the corsola evolves as well. Instead of getting two pokemon out of it you just get the ghost/water version of corsola since its dead now.

I'd say rock ghost fits better due to crown of thorns just leaving behind a limestone skeleton after feeding. Plus, dead coral is Hawaii's state gem. Technically black coral but still.

Giving it a ghost typing would work but that doesn't improve it, giving evolutions to a pokemon is to improve it, like real the world, things evolve to adapt to their surroundings and to predators, evolving into a Ghost/Rock isn't an improvement in evolution.

I see what your going for, but I don't really have much faith in corsola's fighting ability in the first place.That's partially why I suggested rock ghost instead of keeping it alive and slightly more viable water. Along with the limestone skeleton thing of course. Form over function I guess.
