This, it’s retarded how easy it is to get shinies now. I only ever caught the shiny Gyarados in 10+ years of playing. I picked up ultra moon and have found 3 shinies in the span of a week.

My first two shinies (outside of the gyarados) were both friggin Zigzagoon. I think it was during gen 5, I'd gone back and played emerald and found myself a shiny zigzagoon early in the game. After a while I stopped playing and a friend asked if he could borrow emerald, and I said sure, go ahead and start a new game, completely forgetting, and therefore losing, my shiny.

Some time later I started a run on ruby and found another shiny zigzagoon at the start of the game. Since then I've only come across 1 other (not traded or predetermined) shiny and that's my own petilil I need.

YouTube incentivizes channels with more interactivity and longer videos. For people who do shiny hunting on YouTube, they HAVE to push for that sort of shit in order to stay afloat. Being a YouTuber is actually kind of a miserable job in the long run, especially with how it routinely fucks over content creators to benefit corporations, yet does next to nothing about the thousands of automated spam videos uploaded every hour by bots to generate ad revenue.
