65 at start of fight, 66 mid way through. Shadow Ball, Earth Power, Pyschic, and Shore Up for moves. Honestly Palossand was one of the biggest MVPs in my entire playthrough, always helpful. Watching it fucking disintegrate Mewtwo with Never Ending Nightmare was great.

It used EQ turn one. Palo had enough bulk to take at least two. turn one I used stat boost, turn two healed. turn three second stat boost. heal. then sweep. For some reason it used Sandstorm on turn three, which actually helped me since Shore Up gets more healing in Sandstorm. Only member on his team that out speed it was Mewtwo who tried Ice Beaming but Palo tanked it and fucked it up.

I would've done the same, send in a breed mon to use as a starter, but since my favorite Pokemon is Raichu. I waited until my team was mid-30s to trade one over. (I didn't want to use Alolan-Chu) I didn't make it 5IV or give it EVs though. I randomized the IVs and got a shit roll but went with it anyway (like 4 in sp.atk). He only came in handy against Archie, sadly just not too good of a Pokemon in single battles.

Yeah. I've noticed that both Raichus can't do much if they aren't boosted by weather/terrain, Nasty Plot, or Choice items. They don't have much bulk either, leaving them to be whittled down easily. I remember watching HoodlumScrafty's USUM videos and seeing him using Alola Raichu and it getting shafted quite a bit.

While I may have swept Rocket with QD Volcarona, I swept the champion fight with QD Lilligant.

So annoyed I didn't LUCK in to a sun stone from poke pelago so it didn't get quiver dance until the E4 because I evolved it too late.

Pokemon Refresh. No really, I try out new mons every game I play but this time it resulted in a team that was always vulnerable to something and always seemed to lack speed, power, or bulk in any situation.

Mewtwo Y had the perfect coverage and speed to fuck over anything that might hurt him (Incineroar got fucked by Focus Blast, Trevenant and Tyrantrum by Ice Beam, Gallade and Nidokind by Psychic moves). The one guy that could even do anything was my Araquanid, but the damn Dugtrio would always pull off fucking Stealth Rock which ate a quarter of his health every time and put him in easy kill range.

I lost the first time. I won the second time because I managed to Will O' Wisp the Mewtwo (Trevenant managed to "tough it out") and desperately tried to outlast him, only for Tyrantrum to "tough out" TWO ICE BEAMS IN A FUCKING ROW and Stone Edge him to death.

This playthrough made me feel bad, I feel like I made a bad team this time and only succeeded because of Refresh.

Oh yea, Pokemon Refresh is a fucking life saver. I made sure all my Pokemon were full affection by Necrozma. Really saved my ass because my Lilligant dodged his attack, got a stun spore off. Even when paralyzed it still swept my team until Primarina came in, Necrozma got paralyzed couldn't move, she dodged, then toughened it out, then he got paralyzed again and I killed him. Also saved me handfuls of times against the other bosses.

I use Raichu on my doubles team, it's my favorite. I've been using it since XY. It's only good in doubles as a Support mon, but at least it's one of the best. It was even on the world champion's team in 2016.

My Malamar, who was ~lv 64 by the end while the rest of my team was ~61, was absolutely MVP for the whole RR sidequest. Grabbing free +1 attack boosts off of Intimidates, plentiful Superpower opportunities with all the Dark types, plentiful Psycho Cut massacres with all the Poison types. A +2 Night Slash crit slaughtered the Mega Mewtwo Y and I am positive that it would have ruined my entire team otherwise.

Using Inkay/Malamar in-game really was an odd experience. There were plenty of times where it disappointed me. I was never confident sending it out into a blind battle, only when I had a solid plan that involved weird moves when other Pokemon could just tank and kill. Every step of the way I was thinking of replacing it.

And then it learned Superpower at level 48.

Mantine defeated his entire team besides Mewtwo Y, so I switched Scrafty into Psystrike. Then Aura Sphere got Scrafty to 13 or so HP and then it got a critical hit Crunch and OHKO'd it.
