am I the only one who was disappointed that Gen VII didn't have any new fossil pokemons? Like we still haven't ran out of dinosaurs / prehistoric animals to make pokemons based on them.

Yeah, because Hawaii is a bunch of relatively new islands fossils just don’t exist there. Still kinda silly to me though, since Japan is an island chain too, but I don’t know about their fossil record.

Island chain =/= geologically new land

On a geological timeframe, Hawaii is new. Japan is not.

Nope. I was disappointed too. It was cool that they put all of the old fossilmons in the USUM Dex with brand new entries though. Hopefully we'll get new fossilmons in the Switch games.

Kalos is based off France but has an Amargasaurus and Tyrannosaurus as

I was kinda hoping for a rock type Oricorio form. Have it either be a fossil or have a workaround with the plant being extinct. They seemed fine with all of the food chain dex entries. Maybe they didn’t want to bring up the fuckton of extinctions in Hawaii because that might come up as a touchy issue.
