what about unorthodox don't you get? It kills every heatran and magnezone switchin, Heatran gets in the way of lele/ninja to spam their moves so removing it is nice. gyro ball is what you're clicking 85% of the time anyways

and rocks swampert is standard

Those 3 sound pretty good for a TR team. If you wanna go full TR you might try out Wishiwashi, Golisopod, or Araquanid to deal with ground types. Golisopod and Araquanid also have a fighting and ground resist which will help for switch ins on Stakataka's part. Intimidate and Snarl support from something like Arcanine will be super helpful too.

If went with something like Assembly, Arcanine, Araquanid, Porygon2, Creselia, and Oranguru it'd only be two ground weaknesses, one resist and one immunity. should be fine, but it's been a while since I've played competitively (just getting back into it) it's hard to avoid having at least two mons weak to ground since it's SE to very common types. I can see that team having trouble against sandstorm teams that lead with setter and Excadrill. Hitmontop may be a better choice in that case so you can get another Rock Slide resist, and it has Fake out too. Fighting STAB is always great to have on teams too.

I'm wanting to throw together a bs doubles team built around a tyranitar/excadrill/mega mence core, with rotom wash, tapu bulu and a 6th Mon in back. I just have a few questions:

What is the best build for pic related? Choice scarf, choice band and assault vest all seem like popular choices but I'm not sure what sort of EVs I should run. And for moves, would crunch/rock slide/superpower and a fourth move be the way to go?

For excadrill, should I run earthquake and groundium Z or drill run and life orb?

best ass vest users are ones that can still revover hp through moves like drain punch or through abilities like regenerator. if not that mons probably using ass vest to take a hit better from something its meant to check like assvest ttar was being used for naganadel. i wouldn't just stick it on anything.

this is pretty much correct. Recovery moves/abilities like torn-t and tangrowth. Trappers such as mag, muk alola, and ttar are usually decent too. And momentum users like Magearna. Having a good defensive typing and decent offensive presence helps

Soundproof on theory is good for a SubSalac Belly Drum set, but your better off with Bulletproof as it enables more setup opportunities. Overcoat is the best ability if your running a Veil team.

For singles, I’d rank:
1. Bulletproof

Speaking of which I'm running some calcs about Belly Drum Kommo-o and holy shit, it's incredibly strong. Drain Punch OHKOs Koko and Magearna, and 2HKOs Bulu, so you don't really need specific coverage for Fairies and can run Dragon Claw which kills every other Fighting resist at +6.

Landofest but there is a lot fun new tricks to try out, hell you can even take advantage of Lando and try to use adrenaline orb on something, Milotic is something that people have used but it could be fun to experiment with other defiant/competitive mons too.

Drop Iron Head for Icicle Crash. Ice Shard shouldn’t be your only Ice STAB as it won’t do enough damage against bulky targets

Leaf Blade is questionable on Gallade but I guess bulky Water types would be problematic for the other two

A few years ago Nugget Bridge was fairly shit, but at least had evidence that people were active and some information about the meta.

Soundproof is super useful in the Battle Tree Singles if you're going for the SubSalac Belly Drum set. Back in SUMO, the amout of things my Kommo-o blocked that could've otherwise killed it behind its sub was nothing short of ridiculous.

Yeah, that thing is stupid. Slap it on a team with Webs and literally everything dies. One thing to note's that you need coverage to OHKO Toxapex, othewise I'll tank a hit and remove your boosts on the spot.

Another problem with it's that flyin' scarfers like Lando, Lati@s & Unburden Hawlucha can kill the fun. Otherwise, the mon's pretty solid and fun to use.

Well SD is needed if you're trying to late game clean or just sweep upright but if you're trying to pick something off for something else to clean, don't have to. It just works so well with the electric seed defense boost, SD and roost

Ok good to know. I run a very offensive rain team and am always concerned about super fast cleaners that run trains on HO like RP Landorus or mega Alakazam, but between specs ashGren (especially in rain) and Mimikyu I feel safe.

Hell of a lot better than Golduck. Even if they have the same Speed and Sp.Attack Kingdra can also be ran as a mixed or physical attacker, and has access to Dragon Dance. I have seen a few bulky sets, but Kingdra is too frail IMO.

Run Thunder/HP Flying/Grass Knot on Thundurus. HP flying at +2 still 2HKOs Ferrothorn, letting you break down ferropex cores, and then you can OHKO unaware Quagsire/gastrodon. It's a lot better for trashing common stall and defensive cores.

LO +2 leaf blade OHKOs Toxapex but that's about it, and you need all out pummeling to beat Skarmory and celesteela anyway they don't give a fuck about LO sacred sword. Life Orb gives you a 50% chance to OHKO mega venusaur after stealth rocks with smart strike, and guarantees an OHKO on amoongus. LO sacred sword also OHKOs Porygon2 after rocks and has a chance to OHKO without them. +2 smart strike has an unfortunately very slim chance to OHKO volcarona if Kartana has life orb. Life Orb Kartana still can't break defensive Zapdos either (but +2 leafblade has a 83% chance to OHKO the roost+3 attacks set if rocks are up). You can't OHKO Dragonite through multiscale either so it can revenge kill you with flynium Z if rocks aren't up. can't break through defensive mega scizor either, or physically defensive tangrowth. It does however net the OHKO on bulky Zygarde variants.

So it looks like LO Kartana is te way to go if you want to destroy a stall team's FerroPex core for instance.
