not sure about this, either something is really messed up with the probabilities in USUM (bug?) or you and me are both just unlucky.
One time I was hunting for a kings rock and had compound eyes and everything and It just wouldnt show up, what I did was exit then enter the area again and it finally worked.

Try hard resetting, I heard there' s something off with gen 7's RNG after you've had the game on for too long. I couldn't get a single fucking Kangaskhan to spawn for an hour until I reset and then they came every 5 minutes or so.

just to make sure: my synchro mon doesnt have to be the timid one, right? a dead timid mon in the first spot should work too, as long as I send out the synchro mon first, or is that only when SOS chaining?

The Synchronize mon has to have the nature you're looking for, AND it has to be in the first spot in the party. Doesn't matter if it's dead or not.
