Why are showdown players such poor sports?

Win or lose, it seems like 90 percent of the time it ends in somebody either being a blatant dick or whining like a child.

Because
1) low ladder
2) they play more games in the same span of time than on cart with most of the data like damage numbers layed out before them, so they deal with the rng part of Pokemon battles a lot more compared to on cart, so it can get tiring quickly

I'm able to kill Mega Rayquaza semi reliably nowadays. Mostly because people don't seem to get the message that Fairys shut down dragon type moves so as long as you can tank Dragon's Ascent and paralyze them their time is numbered. I'd say 1 in 5 times they end up disconnecting the second Mega Fug goes down. I actually feel somewhat proud of myself. Now if only I could figure out how to deal with the Primals.

Lack of honor. It's a sad reality that if the world of Pokémon were real, far too many trainers would basically be Paul from the anime or Cross from the 20th movie, except with more shitmons and an even greater sense of entitlement, even if they legit suck as trainers. While not quite anonymous, you can change your name at the press of a button and interact with the opponent much more easily than on cart, so low ladder is basically as friendly as 4chan
