At this point, its inevitable that every main series title eventually gets a remake. But the case of Gen 5 is a little strange because of the whole sequel deal.

When the time for a Gen 5 remake comes, will they remake BW, B2W2, or both?

A few options.

>A: Remake Black and White, add Black 2 and White 2 as DLC
>B: Remake Black and White, unlock Black 2 and White 2 after beating the game
>C: Rerelease Black and White on the VC for whatever system Nintendo's got at the time, then release Black 3 and White 3
>D: Release Black 3 and White 3 and just expect players to have played Black and White prior

Ideally I'd want option B. They could cut down on the tutorials and handholding in the sequels and have the difficulty modes unlocked right away.

I have serious doubts about anything past gen 4 needing remakes. Beyond that it's just UI upgrades and having modern raising tools/new Pokemon in old facilities.

That generations scene was great, makes a lot more sense for the BW protagonist to stop Ghetsis. Now I really want the eventual remake to be BW with BW2 as postgame.

They'll remake BW1, make BW2 into a postgame episode in the BW1 remake (where you meet the new gym leaders before they become the new gym leaders, and you fight Kyurem who then becomes the Original Dragon or whatever)

Those games are a bad example (except maybe crash) since they are basically rereleasing the same games in a bundle. It would be like if GF rereleased the gen V games together on VC and calling it a day.

My guess would be that the remakes will be of vanilla B&W, though as a part of the post game the whole climax of the original B2W2 would be a part of the post-game or at least made so it fits to be a part of a post-game story

Theyre going to remade it. Gen 3 didnt need to be remade but it was. So if gen 4 is remade gen 5 remakes, or sequels whatever, are coming for sure.

BW/B2W2 special release on eShop due to no Virtual Console. Leads into Pokemon Black and White (One Game)announcement, which is revealed as the Final Chapter in the Unova Saga.
-Unova Construction completed, even more routes added in the Northwest with Anville mixed into that cluster.
-Depending on version you go through 8 Gyms in specific Cities with the other 8 and all areas post game.
-Original Dragon is the Box Legend. Plasma Corps are a group based on the remnants of Team Plasma who protect the wildlife of Unova. Meanwhile a new Team with an entirely new leader wants the Original Dragon for god knows what reason.
-Pokestar, PWT, and Join Avenue return. C-Gear is now fully functional as a PokeDevice.

Gen 8 brings the DP remakes in 2019 or 2020, followed by Kanto remakes in 2021 for the 25th anniversary
