>>34381245I think that's kind of it. Although Ho-Oh did revive the Beasts. But Kanto and Johto legends never had any real far reaching effects. Like it's easy to think that Lugia being able to calm storms might just be folktales people passed along. A storm stopped just as Lugia flew by? It must've been Lugia that did it. A rainbow appeared as Ho-Oh flew by? Ho-Oh must've been responsible. The stories surrounding them could've been real or fake depending on what you personally think because if you didn't know they were there, it probably wouldn't affect your life all that much.
Groudon and Kyogre are effectively gods. Just by being awake they could destroy the world around them and you can't get Fug to break that up you're pretty much fucked (unless you're a player controlled 10 year old). The Gen 4 creation legends SHOULD be game breaking and SHOULD be actually undefeatable. A Pokemon that controls time? A penis dragon that can be a walking black hole if it chose to? Fucking Satan? God? And after them it starts to get super weird because no you start meandering into abstract concepts like Truth and Ideals. Yes the embodiment of Truth is a fire breathing, winged dog dragon thing. Living embodiments of Life and Death? And now we're onto Pokemon from alternate dimensions? Ironically the Tapus are the closest we've gotten to the original legendaries in years. And they're called dieties by the islanders. And this new trend raises a lot of questions too. Like at what point does a Pokemon stop being a Pokemon? Because Deoxys is a straight up alien. Like it has no relation to Earth whatsoever. But you can catch it in a ball.
