This is a ranking of the Pokémon world regions in terms of level design and layout (from a mechanical/video game point of view). From best to worst.

This is the most retarded thing you can say. Realism doesn't inherently benefit a game. It should be designed like a video game, not like a simulation of real life.

I actually forgot Pokemon used to have fun little dungeons like this. If only there was be a middle ground between the two. I will say however that it's really neat how Alola has a great sense of scale that feels believable for the first time in the series.

I assume you have played the games in which case you should understand. Relatively speaking, the locations from the old games are complex dungeons that provide ample reward upon completion such as a rare Tyrogue or the item needed to evolve Clamperl among other things.

In Alola it's not anything, just a straight, empty hallway that leads to some white noise dialogue, or the elevator/bus which skips what should have been a dungeon or big route. That is why they are there, because they rob you of content like what's on the left.

Thanks for posting that, Ice Path is always one of my favorite examples to use when reminding people that Pokémon used to have good level design.

Genwun and Gentoo have the best cave/dungeon layouts because they couldn't rely on graphics to distract. Silph Co and Whirl Islands are absolutely elite for pokemon standards.
