Pokémon doesn't need great graphics to be a great game. We've always loved this franchise and games in general for other aspects and, in my opinion, graphic is just a secondary thing when it comes to quality for a game.

It's also a launch title and a direct port from the Wii U. If anything that help my point by showing that it can handle large-scale environments; after a couple years and devs getting used to it the Switch will have spectacle growth just like literally every other game console ever made.

The Switch is just an OC'd WiiU, which sits it just above the PS3.
If good optimized, it could look really well, but, that "really well" is something like Zelda BotW as much. Something between SM/USM on Citra on 1080 and what current Zelda looks like on WiiU/Switch, closer to WiiU's one since GF doesn't really look to optimize games at all.

BotW with Pokémon, most likely, but I don't think the Pokémon will be there on the world, just random encounters as always. They will probably do something like DQ XI, a 3DS version and a Switch version.

Lol no. The Switch hardware is honestly pretty shit. Nintendo themselves could not get their first-party Zelda game to run at a stable framerate, and they generally make the most optimized games for their platforms.

The new Xenoblade on Switch renders at about 900p docked and dips below 720p in handheld mode. Given that Gamefreak is notoriously shit at optimizing their games...

I hope not. I think it will take away from the experience. I think the mismatch between the details in the environment and the details in the pokemon would make it weird. For example, I think milotic or charizard or dragonite with scales would go into uncanny valley territory, or chansey/pikachu/cyndaquil fur. But if these details are not implemented, there would be a mismatch with a highly detailed battle background environment.

i remember when i saw the first screenshots of Pokemon Stadium i thought that you would actually be able to control the pokemon and fight with it in the arena, having to dodge attacks and whatnot. i was so sad that the game was turnbased with shitty animations and no story that i cried.
the same thing happened with Pokemon Colosseum except i didn't cry.

I'd hat it if they gave the games a realistic art style. I'd still want them to keep the Sugimori style and just improve the textures and the environments.

My biggest hopes are that they actually take advantage of the 3d and not make linear routes, improve the colors so that they're not all washed out, and improve the Pokemon sprutes themselves (I expect them to look a little better than Pokken, but we'll see)... Oh, and no outlines, please.
