Bird Pokemon are never measured from wingtip to wingtip. They're measured from head to foot.

The ORAS Pokedex was inconsistent. Some, like Noctowl, were measured in wingspan. Meanwhile Aerodactyl was head to toes.

The pokedex is really flawed. Why do you think people argue over its entries? Why do you think some footprints from Hoenn/Sinnoh dexes don't match the ones from the gen 6 models? Everything about it should be taken with a grain of salt.

I always assumed the Pokedex was just an average height and weight. All animals, including humans, vary in size. So why not pokemon?

They're averages outside of UBs, which can grow colossal. But as ORAS showed birds and bats are measured by standing height rather than wingspan

If they seriously want me to believe that Groudon is only fucking 11 feet tall they can fuck off. I refuse to believe the creator of land is barely taller than a one story building.

UBs are presumably an average of the ones in Alola, since the only colossally huge UB we ever see is mountain-Xurkitree whereas all the UBs that invade are roughly Pokémon sized, presumably because bigger ones couldn't fit through the Ultra Wormhole

Exactly. Presumably to them a bunch of Ultra-Wormholes opened seemingly for no reason and any UBs nearby or small enough were sucked in. The URS backs this up when saying Stakataka/Blacephalon aren't intentionally invading, they're just lashing out because they have no idea where they are.

I guess I get why you would like a huge Groudon, but I don't see how it being nearly twice your height is unbefitting. It's feats are why it's named that. An animal twice your height is pretty intimidating, especially in a world where Dragons, Giraffes and Elephants are smaller than you.
