At least Alola has variety is Pokemon to catch and build a diverse team. My biggest gripe with Hoenn is the lack of variety of Pokemon types. It's mostly water and some grass. There's hardly any Fire, or electric types to choose from. If you want a good fire type, you have to settle with starting with Torchic or if you want an electric, you gotta usually settle with Electrike.

GF baited us with this game, do you remember leak and reveal season for this? Shit was hype, but once again GF proved that they can only say good ideas and never do them and I think it was the last straw.

It is like they are purposefully trying to fuck with people who are genuinely wanting that sort of thing, by giving them an inferior shitty gimmick, and piling other gimmicks that aren't even needed or wanted.
They have a lot of opportunities to make something awesome, but they just seem to listen to bullshit like focus groups or something.
Pokemon is just becoming painfully stagnant as a franchise without really shaking up the core idea to give it more life again.
If you can't make it drastically different from the first gen, then you aren't really doing much better than what you are doing back in 1996.
