Is it possible to build a great/good/semi-decent/somewhat playable OU team for each generation, using only Gen 1 Pokémon?

Snorlax/Zapdos/Cloyster/Exeggutor is a great framework, season to taste.

Gen 3 is hard, because there's like 5 really good mons, and the rest are average. They also contradict, I.E drizzle pelipper is good, but it synergizes poorly with blaziken, period. You're better off going with raw power when it comes to a Hoenn only team.

How hard is this to understand?

A Gen 3 team could for example be built around Magneton and Dugtrio clearing the way for a Snorlax/Gyarados sweep, or something.

Ninetales, Venusaur and Dugtrio work well together in Gen 5. You could potentially make a very good sun team using only Gen 1 Pokémon (Starmie and Dragonite come to mind).
