Pokemon learning to talk

Is it just me or are Pokemon in this game actually coming close to human language. Go ahead. Talk to some random NPC Pokemon in USUM. The way they talk is different than in previous games. are they hinting at something or am I just crazy?

Well they did say a cut feature from XY was a Pokemon translator. Maybe they'll eventually implement it.

I’ve been playing through the game in Chinese, Crabrawler in Poni’s only town literally just says something like “gotta win”. Pretty sure in SM the only thing any of them said was kakakakakaka or the like.

Yeah that Mimikyu's in SM.

Totem Mimikyu also says "Seeee meee?!". Totem Gumshoos or Raticate (forgot which) says "Scraaaam!"

Couple that along with the fact Pikachu tried to "speak" with Ash in the 20th movie and you might be onto something here.

I think they might just tap into that (as well as the playing-with-your-pokemon thing in USUM) on the Switch game.
