>>34401652I can't speak for the rest of /vp/, and I wouldn't want to, but I'm just tired of all of the nods to Kanto. Hell, I'm tired of the nods to other regions as well. I want the next region to be completely divorced of all the other regions. It can save that for postgame, but while in the main game, I don't want to hear shit like "we have this thing just like the one in ____ region." Each region should be able to stand on its own as a new, interesting place, and if it has to depend on past regions for attention, then there must be something inherently flawed in it.
You know what really pissed me off at the end of S/M? The fact that Kukui wants to build a league in Alola. They have something absolutely unique in the Pokemon world, but because he fucked around in Kanto's league, he wants to bring it to Alola. GF could have done something with the Kahunas and Tapus instead, and it would have been perfect to give you the title of "Big Kahuna." But no, it's just regular old league with regular old Champion.
