>>34408292Gwenpost aside, I agree. Nostalgia's best served for cameos and everyone wishing for Kanto remakes want them to redo the game from the ground up rather than add some shit to existing content.
ORAS and HGSS were more or less the same with extra stuff and the latter didn't fix one of its major flaws with level scaling. I can't imagine a Kanto remake would do much more than make the work they have 3D as far as they're able to rather than what the fans are willing to see done. When Masuda said "lower your expectations" the man means he's still gonna do the bare minimum of what's expected of a Pokemon game but prettier. HD game development is taxing, even when Nintendo affiliated parties do it.
Kanto is a boring region. If you need nostalgia bait, just take a cameo if you need a fix that badly or y'know, bring back the fucking PWT. Point is, there's other ways to give a nod to veteran fans and in case you haven't noticed, Hoenn and Sinnoh fans have oldfag vets too.
