You're right, at lease you can quickly use Photo Club when your Pokemon evolves and get a quick and easy o-power. Super Training was a waste of time no matter what.

Even then, SOS battles double the EV yield and power items now also yield double the EVs that they used to.
If you also have pokerus, it takes six or seven kills to max a stat. Hordes were still better

it's still a waste of time. It's a waste of time to spend 20 - 45 seconds on a minigame for +12 EVs when you can do a horde battle for 60 EVs. Not only that, but if you had enough power items you could EV train 5 pokemon at the same time and be done in like 2 minutes or whatever

I liked the white reset bags, albeit tedious, only way to fully reset is having enough berries now, and you can't plant berries in Gen VI :^).

Removal of hordes is a tragedy, it was the best way to EV train within 10 minutes or so.

Although like absolutely everything related to Festival Plaza, it's absolute shit because a pokémon with maxed friendship cannot make use of it. Which a pokemon with maxed EVs is very likely to be.

Although having options is always nice, specially since much of the stuff involved in horde trained isn't really explained in-game.

The moment you got a Power item (or multiples) the purpose for this gimmick died because of Horde Battles.
Its legacy still lives on as a standard feature of the game.

Personally, I had a way easier time growing 400 Kelpsy Berries with the Poke Pelago than I did getting Reset Bags in XY.

You can max out EVs on 18 Pokemon in a day and a half, while the system idles. And if you just need a few Pokemon EV trained faster, you can SOS chain with training items. It's just like how in Gen 6, Super Training was the less efficient, but lower effort way to EV train. Horde battles were the faster method, but required some legwork to learn which hordes in which location you needed to find and to get training items and moves that would clear them out faster. Isle Evelup fills the same niche. You don't have to put much effort into EV Training your Pokemon that way, but you won't be able to use them for the next day or two of real time.
