Get it through your thick skulls: THE XY ANIME WAS TERRIBLE.
Too many people on this site claiming otherwise for whatever reason but there's a reason why the anime and movies are like they are now.

>The SM anime actually sees an increase to this
>XY movies were garbage outside of animation, they bombed in box office
>The AU movie was beloved by all and opens the doors for a new canon not tied by the anime's canon, more freedom and ideas
