This, but with the word "stall" in there somewhere. A good phazer is important as is your own damp so you can wait while your opponent can wait. That way you can do nothing while your opponent isn't doing anything.

Tournaments that allowed NYPC moves like Lovely Kiss Nidoking, Hypnosis Misdreavus and Growth Eeveelutions saw some meta rumbling but it was mostly samey. I personally tried to spice things up by having Explosion on Gengar and spiker/spinner (Cloyster/Forretress). Sometimes ran Sand Attack on Skarmory to screw over people who, when losing, would sac everything for a Curselax last stand. Occasionally saw Growl/Flamethrower/Toxic/Rest Slowbro in a similar role but never used it myself. Also if memory serves, NB had some strange interactions with Curse/Rest/Roar/Return (Rock Slide in the case of Tyranitar) Kangaskhan not being able to be phased even while asleep-top cut an-mas league with that one year.

Curse Suicune was cool and some people even tried out curse Starmie afaik.

Classic stall is Snorlax/Raikou/Skarmory with either Cloyster or Forretress in the fourth slot, Miltank/Misdreavus/Umbreon in the fifth and a lot of different stuff in the sixth.
Borat-style Explosion offense is Snorlax/Zapdos/Cloyster/Steelix/Exeggutor, with a fifth mon that can be anything, but is usually good against certain Snorlax variants.
