I put this together as a child when watching movie 2, before I'd even played a Pokemon game.
The only talking Pokemon in the animu besides Meowth (at the time) were Psychic type because they're telepathic. Mewtwo, Slowking and Lugia. Therefor, in my child brain, Lugia was Psychic. Also it controls ocean currents with its mind at the end of the movie.
Lucario ruined literally everything and now anything that shows up in a movie can speak telepathically.
