This fucking ticks me off. As I was finishing my Sapphire Dex the other day, I was confused as to why I have not seen Sceptile yet. Then I rebattled E4 and remembered that Brendan sort of stared at me, and then fucks off. SO glad ORAS fixed their ending

After the XY gang I was completely ready to hate Hau from the moment he was introduced because I was sick of friendly rivals, but I ended up loving him by the end. I appreciated the fact that they took the friendly rival angle to such an extreme that his character arc focuses on his pokemon getting sick of his "fun" attitude and him realizing that he needs to actually be somewhat serious in battling. It's an interesting contrast to the original rival taking things too seriously while not being friendly enough.
