Has Gamefreak ever given a reason as to why they don't allow multiple save files for Pokemon games?

How much do you want to bet that Gamefreak will make it impossible to have multiple save files using profiles on the Switch Pokemon game?

Also, people would use multiple saves to take advantage of GTS and trading with themselves.

I always assumed it was GF way to prevent people from having multiple legendaries with one save file. Though, with the advent of resetting a game and Pokebank, idk now. Money grabbing most likely

It can't be that hard to implement some kind of check that makes it so you can't trade with yourself.
Or if it is, who even cares? The GTS is hack-filled cancer anyway.

That's resetting for one event to get a good one, not easily getting a ton of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if every copy of the game had some insane form of DRM that makes it so the game can only be played on one account.

This is the main reason why I don't want to restart. I even have a new game team in mind, but fuck me I don't think I can sit through that ordeal again. The game became fun after people left me the fuck alone aka the end of the fucking game

I would not be surprised one bit if they did that

I hope not; multiple save files is something people have dreamed about for years. Heck, removal of HMs and a mainline home console Pokemon are things people have dreamed about for years. Dreams are unironically coming true here. Let's hope GF doesn't kill them like they did with Dream World.
