Which should I play? I've never finished Crystal (got to E4) and I've never played HG/SS
I'm leaning towards Crystal because the music was so good and after listening to the "remastered" version on the DS, I didn't really like it.

Crystal has minor things that HGSS took out, like getting Phanpy early or a patch of grass in route 10 near Violet town, but overall it's basically the same. If you like Kris more than go for Crystal, if you really like following pokemon go HGSS. But emulate HGSS, the original DS is slow as sin and an emulator makes it much more enjoyable.

I prefer the remakes but if you're playing legit and want imports. I'd lean towards Crystal for imports like shiny Celebi and easy ES multiscale Dragonite.
