>>34471536>>34471541>>34471789The problem is that the thematics of the two (Ground / Water) is fundamentally unbalanced; it'd be weird if Desolate Land blocked Ice type moves or something, it has to block *some* type of attacks if Primordial Sea does, and if they removed the type-nullifying attacks, then they wouldn't be much different from their regular abilities.
Also, Kyogre being Water/Electric wouldn't do much, since Groudon's Ground type would mean it's immune to both STABs if it came out last. I'd suggest it becoming Water/Flying and getting Hurricane to represent storms (and make it immune to Ground moves like Precipice Blades), but Groudon's ludicrous coverage includes Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Thunder Punch.
So I'd remove those three moves from Groudon (and give them to Kyogre), and make Kyogre the only pokemon to learn both Hurricane and Thunder.
>>34471814>>34471846The problem is that Ghosts have SE STAB against the Psychic and Ghost Shadow Taggers anyway - a pokemon with Shadow Tag usually wouldn't switch into them anyway.
Same thing with Arena Trap; any pokemon immune to it is also immune to one of their STABs, giving them little reason to switch in.
If, on the other hand, they were changed so that Ghosts or Flying types could always switch *in* to Shadow Tag or Arena Trap respectively, it'd be a lot better.
