I've seen a lot of discussion about what features people would like added, but Gamefreak being as Gamefreak is, a lot of their features are half-baked even if they're functional. Rather than adding more to the mess, how would you improve existing ones?

As an example:
>instead of summoning completely unrelated Pokémon from nowhere, the different PokéRides use compatible Pokémon from your party: encouraging players to build a diverse team in-game without forcing them to load up their Pokémon with otherwise worthless moves.
>because they can be generated infinitely from the bag, Z-Crystals disappear after use (in-game, they could regenerate like items that have been knocked off), recreating some of the utility from the type Gems (e.g, Unburden strats, Acrobatics, stealing the opponent's item after).
