Because the majority tend to be genwunner when they say they hate those lines so it's safer to assume than to have a legitimate conversation.
It's only safe to have contrain tastes in Pokemon and have no option on which gen is better.

Vanilluxe exemplifies the best thing about Pokemon for me: even something that looks completely stupid can become a nuke.

The reason I see it as dumb is because most people think garbodor or vaniluxe are somehow too "absurd" for pokemon. People will bitch about anything slightly absurd but will praise bipedal dogs and cats as if those are some amazingly creative concept. Hell, in real life we gave organisms actually made of garbage and waste in real life, but somehow it's too stupid for pokemon.
