I haven't played it yet, and haven't played sun since last year when I beat the game. How is it? Any noticeable changes? Would you recommend it to someone who already has sun?

Yes, I would. /vp/ isnt the place to ask since everyone hates it because they all expected BW2 size changes, but there are enough changes to make the game different, while still keeping it a third version. I would recommend it.

If you enjoyed SM then yes, i would recommend it. It has enough changes in it to keep it interesting and the postgame is a lot bigger.

There is some nice stuff. I still think the best thing about them is the few new mons and the little events in the game. That also includes some conclusions to side-quests and mini-stories that didn't have one in SM. Makes it seem more alive. As said there are a lot of really small things and neat details but nothing worth of 40 bucks. I would only recommend it if you really like these kinds of little things or want to play VGC or Battlespot. If you just casually play and already played SM I wouldn't recommend it.

Your brain is interperting my post backwards. There's 5 new Pokemon, one being a mythical and the other 4 being legendaries and thanks to VGC rules as of gen 6, GF is making it so that every old legendary will be available in follow up games and so Pennywise, Stakataka, and Poipole/Naganadel will be available in the Sinnoh remakes.

I played moon on release then bought ultra sun on release.

the changes were enough for me to be thorougly entertained , as pokemon games have great replay value in general.

it's worth it, provided you enjoyed your regular sun play through

Related question, I never played Sun, only beat the demo. Should I play Ultra Sun and not even bother with Sun? I'm out of the loop and thought US was a sequel like BW2.

Yes, a bunch! Cutscenes are still strong, but the long ones from the first games are cut down significantly. You get to picking your starter within 8-9 minutes, instead of 16.

Definitely, I would. I've played both Sun and Moon, and Ultra Moon is great for me so far. I just reached the fourth island.

depends on how much you enjoyed sun. i loved moon to death when it first came out but had trouble finishing ultra moon because of how boring the plot was the second time around. the difficulty spike is great change but that's about as different as it gets. i'd buy it if you're desperate for a pokemon fix but that's about it
