Rotom was heavily featured in the Pokedex section of the anime with the Pokedex's creator not only before YW's anime release but before the game too.

I would never deny the shitty SM anime being inspired by YW in tone and general atmosphere. I would never deny a black, red eyed and a white, blue eyed dragon Pokemon appearing when Yu-gi-oh! faced a "resurgence" with the general public.
I would deny attack poses, items and super moves being exclusively used by YW because they're in shittons of other franchises. I would deny Megas being copied from Digimon because Mega Digimon is not only a dub thing and basically anime only, but again super modes are in a shitton of other things. Fucking Dragonball exists you know? Or every JRPG with an edgy protagonist. Or goddamn Naruto.
I would deny Alola forms being copied from Digimon because every fucking JRPG on Earth has recolored monsters. I would never say YW copied Pokèmon as a monster collecting franchise because Pokemon doesn't hold the exclusive to that(and SMT came way before it anyway...)
