Need help for SS (after 1st gymn)

I think of letting jirachi and mareep go. I want Scizor, maybe gyarados, Lugia and garchomp.
Is this enough? What´s the best alternative for mareep. I always played with that, or do I even need an alternative?
Should I drop scizor? I wanna play crystal later this year so I can use mons I didn´t use here, there.

Throw out Mareep and Bellsprout. Use a Geodude for the time being, get a Scyther in the bug catching contest tomorrow.

Unfortunately for you, Crystal still has shit Pokemon variety. You'll end up with a party of Sentret, Bellsprout, Rattata, and Pidgey.

very standard team i guess but the main game was still challenging since i was often 5-9 levels underleveled. ghetsis almost destroyed me, and iris was hard to beat as well.

I'm doing a Shitmon playthrough of ORAS. The just of it is using low tier Pokemon. before you flip out, I'm using Latias as my HM Slave
There are a few rules
>Only use Pokemon belonging to the lowest tier in Smogon
>Only use Pokemon in C tier and below in Smogon's respective In-Game tier lists
>No items in battle
>No Pokemon above any of the major battle's Ace's
>No Legendaries (to use in battle)

I had a few close calls with some ace trainers. They're all at levels 39-41. About to beat up Liza&Tate. I'm planning on capturing a Clamperl and using a Huntail and probably replace Seviper or Dustox with it.

This is my favourite way to play the games, especially when I'm replaying an old cart. I like to impose a limit on BST or base attacking stats to force me to utilise status moves etc

Always ends up being pretty fun as a lot of things I like the designs of, like Girafarig, lanturn, kecleon etc fit nicely into the criteria.
