First thing that led me to this conclusion was the 20th movie and the merchandise and a certain pokemon of the past who had similar rhythm.
First the concept art, that's not Ash's incineroar, that is most likely Tigrudo, a pro wrestling incineroar who hangs around the battle royal and has this rivalry with a machamp.
Rowlet getting a lot of merchandise is quite similar to Torchic back in Gen 3 all the way till now. It was actually the comedy relief pokemon of gen3. It's been getting more merchandise and fan art then blaziken. They've shilled Torchic far more then blaziken and the other Glenn starters. Like for instance in DPPT torchic is the only other starter that's not the sinoh starters that you can walk with in pal park.
They literally just used Torchic as comedy relief because it cute. But then when the fans got sick of that. They started to evolve it. They are probably doing the same thing for Rowlet too. Decidueye got into pokken because of it's popularity so GF knows how big of a deal it is.
So I predict that ash will get Decidueye and torracat for his final alola team. Plus there is Torracat and Decidueye merchandise coming soon next year, and people are saying next year is the end of Gen 7. So.
