Little things like getting to pick a dress for herself, go on her own, have an adventure must feel overwhelming, but amazing.
The little bit of freedom she actually is beginning to take for herself, this makes her actions in Sun and Moon all the more impacting.
Basically, you should see this in another perspective instead of just shitting on it, because in the grander scheme of the story, it is so much more meaningful.
