So, I've never fully played a Johto Game (I played Soul Silver until the last gym then the save file corrupted) and with the news that Pokemon Crystal is coming out on VC I thought it was time to try and play through Johto again, but I'm having trouble forming a team.

The 3 Pokemon I know I want on my team are Typhlosion, Donphan and Machamp.

TL;DR: Tell me what Pokemon I should add to my team that are good for a Gen 2 Johto Playthrough.

P.S: Bird Keeper Toby and Ace Trainer Liam are Severely Autistic.
