>>34520540Lillie already has a story mapped out so it just makes sense imo. Protagonists are designed for self insertion, they're all supposed to be as bland as possible.
I hope Lillie is a shift in strategy for them. Sick of them taking the protagonist designs and putting a basic bitch personality in it for the show. It's so counter to the every-man/woman mold that the protagonists are designed in.
Dawn looks like a female Ash, Serena's appearance is so dull looking and, although she's got brighter colours and a silly hat, the SM girl is still just a boring obligatory female protagonist design. Kris is just a genderbent Gold, Hilda is just female Hilbert etc etc.
I'd say the main standouts are May and Lyra? Though ORAS changed the designs so much that May and Brendan ended up basically the same.
So yeah, based purely on design, the best playable PokeGirl is either Lyra or Original May. I'd say worst designs are Serena's and whatever the guy from X is called; I'm not trying to start a hate thread, they have clearly been designed as the most generic, both clothing and hairstyles, to showcase the trainer customisation in XY.
I do like Platinum Dawn but even then she's very similar to Lucas in appearance. They're even wearing the same damn scarf.
>TL;Dr>Playable character designs are always bland and uninteresting, mainly due to the self-insert nature of protagonists, and the advent of trainer customisation has only exacerbated this.Get some taste, obsess about an NPC as the designs are always far more interesting.
