>>34524022It's the year 2680 BC. While the Egyptians were building their great pyramids, the neighboring Dorb Dynasty was setting to work on its own... "special" technology. Whereas Ancient Egyptians built their great monuments with raw materials and engineering, the Dorbians discovered a way to incorporate magic into their designs. Houses floated above the ground, broomsticks swept and swept with nary a touch from their masters, and the people enjoyed the privilage of the newly-invented Pocket Balls, which allowed them to tame and capture the monsters that lurked just utside their borders, vastly improving their security.
But then... Two brave adventurers made seperate expeditions. One traveled deep inside a newly discovered brightly-lit cave of apparently recent origin. The other traversed the forbidden pitch-black forest which had stood unchanging for generations. It is known that both used the new Pokeball technology to tame the hardiest of monsters before setting foot in these locale.
Three days after their departure... The ground shook. And it shook. It shook until cracks began to form. Suddenly the ground was rushing to meet the humans who stood upon it. The once-floating houses had hit the ground... but they did not fall. The ground rose, and it rose, and it rose for what seemed an eternity with the entire Dynasty resting upon it, until it stood upon the very clouds themselves!
The neighboring dynasties and empires could do nothing but watch as an entire piece of the continent rose to the heavens before their very eyes. They could do nothing but weep in confusion and despair as the ocean rushed to fill the vacuum that had been left behind in the ascent, flooding much of their cities as well.
The secrets of the Dorb Dynasty had ascended with them, and their very existence became mythos.
