/vp/ what would happen if GF decided to cut multiplayer out all together and not worry about balancing 800+ mons, and started focusing solely on the story?

1) It'd go against one of the original design concepts and intents of Pokemon, meaning a lot of people both in and out of the studio would be upset
2) Smogonfags would still simulate it through Showdown
3) Anti-Smogonfags would get even more full of themselves

Nice quads, but the multiplayer battles were an afterthought. Pokemon gen 1 wasn't balanced around fighting other trainers.

It wouldn't even be hard to balance most pokemon sprinkle some 20 or more points to speeds and attack stats and bigger movepools

it would be good, although it would be at least nice if they kept local battling since friends can make up their own rules so you don't need to balance everything
