I just consider Volcarona the closest thing to a pesudo, it's certainly flashy enough.

This typing sounds cool on paper but in practice is has a ton of weaknesses, Bug/Fairy or Bug/Steel would make for a better pseudo.

Rumor has it Larvesta was going to have a mid-stage, but it was omitted for reasons unknown. It loosely follows that it was probably going to be a pseudo originally.

rufflet, vullaby and larvesta needed a mid stage so bad, but the gen was so saturated of them i guess they didn't bother making the gen bigger than it already was.

volcarona is good nough though especially considering how bad the last 2 pseudo are. Nobody likes Kommo-o and the people who likes Goodra are liking him for all the wrong reasons

I like Kommo-o. Its Z-Crystal is stuck in BL hell though, but at least it's one of the best VGC mons right now thanks to it.

Kommo-o is both semi popular and usable because of the z crystal. Goodra is the only outright bad pseudo since USM.

Maybe those three and Noibat will get middle evos next gen. They could desperately use one to mitigate the long wait to final evo.
I don't think we've ever seen cross-gen evos that are simply middle stages added in (we've had babies and third evos).
