Ash had one for 66 episodes. It's hardly forgettable. Servine is probably the most forgettable one considering Trip only used it for 2 episodes.

And it actually looks the best out of gen vi and viii middle starters.

The most forgettable one must be the 4th gen ones. Quilladin and Pignite are too hated to be forgotten
