Anyone else having trouble to find people to battle in the championship format?

For the last couple of days I have trouble finding an opponent in the battle spot for the VGC 2018 format, I don't know if that is happening because there is already less people playing the game or if it is because I currently have 1650 points in the ladder and there are less people that I can be match agaisnt.

I have seen a fair variety of teams being use, the power creep isn't really that bad, and this issue only begun appearing when I climb the ladder to the point that I'm.
But I think you are right about the festival plaza thing,

Doubles playerbase is just pretty small + even less people are at that part of the ladder.
