current playthrough team thread. rate, hate, and offer suggestions.

what else should I get? I'm clearly gonna need a Water type so any suggestions? I'm not sure if I want to use Zorua either, I kinda hate Zoroark, would gladly take Ferroseed over it. Is it worth using? Also my Minccinno just learned wake up slap, should I evolve it now? I have a Shiny Stone.

There's Vaporeon, Jellicent and Starmie later.

Replaying X, got the first badge. Its been a while so I want to try Pidgeot and Butterfree. I can see Litleo going far since it has Headbutt and work up so early.

Ferrothorn is better than Zoroark and you could use something defensive. Unless you want to hold out for Slam, you'd be fine evolving Minccino now.

Always wanted to use a Joltik, but never got around to using one.

Currently at the Dragons Den in Silver. Will the team be okay for the Elite Four? Only issue I think there might be will be Lance.

Well I can't give you suggestions, but you just gave me a new romhack to check out, thanks.
As for me, recent game was White 2 with a team consisting of: Samurott, Magnezone, Archeops, Scraggy, Fraxure, and Litwick

iirc youcan get Solar Beam in Goldenrod. It's not the best but it's still better than Vine Whip, and worked out for me until I got Sludge Bomb near Mahogany.

I'd recommend Persian over Bewear since Fur Coat halves damage from all physical moves; not just ones that make contact and it doesn't make you weak to fire.

Bewear is way better even though Fluffy doesn't work against Earthquake.
Persian should be used with Technician ingame. It has a decent special movepool thanks to tutors this time.

I would personally drop the Unfezant and pick up Swanna. It fits nicely into your team, is fairly quick and has decent mixed attacking stats for in-game.

I used one in my first BW run for HM moves and it was surprisingly good.

I've had UM since release, but I'm still in Hau'oli because I'm lazy and can't decide a team. Only ones I'll be using for sure are Primarina and A-Muk. Will probably get Bewear, A-Marowak and maybe A-Ninetales down the line. What would be good 6th team member?

I would rec Togedemaru as Zing Zap's flinchhax breaks the game but that woud make half of your team weak to ground. If you're conscious of that, then maybe you could do Vikavolt instead as Eviolite holds you over pretty well until it evolves.

How do you guys decide your teams in casual play? Currently wanting to replay HeartGold but having difficulty on team construction. Don't know if I should go random, Nuzlocke, gen 2 only, or whatever. Currently spending too much time being autistic over this when I could be playing Pokemon.

Kinda whatever I'm feeling at the moment. If you want to do a more interesting run like mono type, solo, nuzlocke, etc then choose whatever you feel like doing the most

Caught Salamence as a baby at Level 10. Intimidate plus that BST make it amazing. Can't find a good Pokemon for my last spot though.
Also, I am not sure whether it is the team, or just because I am underleveled, but this team was swept, first by Hau's Raichu in Malie City, then by Togedemaru in Hokulani Observatory, then by Guzma in Malie Gardens.
Most probably going to use Zydog as my last member, unless someone suggests something interesting for me to use. Right now I just got my Ride Mudsdale on Route 12

Not the dragon ones with resistance to electric attacks. Ice is the best bet, Cloyster, Dewgong, Lapras or Piloswine. Top choice would be Cloyster hands down

Persian is also pretty offensively weak and even with its ability seemed like it kept dying on me in my run. I'm using a Bewear on my second playthru and even tho it has a negative nature it rips through enemy teams and can tank everything
