before xy, gf was lazy about shinies and only did a single palette swap over from their original palette. of course with some exceptions like Charizard. and starting in xy they chose the colors for shinies instead of being lazy

And there are even more. GF maybe doesn't care about some shinies, but on others it clearly thinks it through.
