It only ended because Struggle + Regenerator apparently triggers the Endless Battle Clause.

Not sure if it physically lasted longer (I think it did) but there was a theoretically neverending game involving ABR and some other guy for a tournament, the other guy ended up losing because after several hours he had to leave to go for work or something so he threw. And it wasn't even stall vs. stall iirc, both teams were just really fat.

A turn animation takes about 6 seconds. Assuming each player took an average of 10 seconds to pick their move and they weren't both skipping animations, then this battle took around 11 hours.

It's not a Regenerator problem. Its a stall vs stall problem. A turn limit seems reasonable. Ends in a draw in turn 1000. Or better yet, both lose. Forcing players to play more risky and not just switch forever-

It's not retardation, it's a game design flaw. The only way either player could win was through PP stalling, so they couldn't use any moves.

50 turn limit is a no go. Many many games last over 50 turns. Imagine otplaying a dude all game, and then he gets a lucky crit or you get a miss on turn 50 and beecause of that when it goes in turn 51, you lose all because of that one instance of RNG. Do you know how pissed off people would become?

ah, must have misread. that doesn't seem too bad but I think it would be a bit hard to implement because stallfags could just switch for 49 turns, then just use an attack on the 50th turn and proceed to switch stall for 49 turns again.

are you fucking crazy? we have a max number of 6 pokemon, 5 switches in a row is the max number of consecutive switches a person could possibly ever need to test all 6 pokemon, get out and stay out.
